LifeNet 7-9
LifeNet 7-9 is based out of Damon Field Airport in Potsdam, NY. This base first went into service in 2012 being staffed with a helicopter to serve the communities of the North Country. After a few years, Air Methods Corp decided that a fixed wing plane in place of a helicopter would provide a better service to the communities expanding the capabilities to complete missions in adverse weather conditions using instruments. The plane is a 2016 Pilatus PC12 which is staffed by one pilot, one critical care nurse, and one critical care paramedic 365 days of the year to answer the call for help. Currently our local service area serves the counties of St Lawrence, Clinton, Franklin, and Essex. In addition to providing state of the art critical care to our local area, the PC 12 is able to complete long distance flights out of state to help patients return closer to their home state or to reach a higher level of specialty care that is needed which is not available in their local area.
