Our flight crews provide critical care life support to patients throughout New York and Pennsylvania. We partner with EMS, Fire, and hospitals to bring ICU level care and rapid transport to those who need it most.<\/div><\/header>

Critical Care in the Air<\/span><\/span><\/h4><\/header>
<\/div>

LifeNet of New York is a program operated by Air Methods. Nationwide, we operate 300+ aircraft at more than 250 bases. In the LifeNet of NY program, we operate 10 helicopters and 1 airplane. Our flight crews bring critical care directly to the patient, whether on a scene or in a hospital, and quickly deliver them to a specialty center that can manage their conditions.<\/p>\n

Each aircraft is staffed 24\/7 with a pilot, a flight paramedic, and a flight nurse. Our highly experienced pilots undergo rigorous training to qualify in their assigned aircraft, and regularly demonstrate proficiency to maintain their credentials. Our clinicians are trained well above their standard scope of practice as nurses and paramedics. Each are specially qualified as a critical care providers: the assessments, medications, and interventions our teams render are well beyond the prescribed protocols for ground-based ambulances.<\/p>\n<\/div>

When a first responder or physician requests our assistance, our crews complete a safety survey before responding. When all parties are in agreement that it is safe and prudent to proceed, the closest appropriate aircraft responds to stabilize and transport the patient to the facility best equipped to treat them.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Patient Advocacy<\/span><\/span><\/h4><\/header>
<\/div>

Our mission doesn\u2019t end when the patient is safely delivered to the hospital. Each patient is assigned a patient advocate to ensure that they are represented through the billing process.<\/p>\n

Our dedicated Patient Advocacy team provides patients with support and resources during the post-flight billing process. Our goal is to relieve stress on patients and their families. Patient Advocates successfully help patients navigate the claims and appeals process. When patients work with our Patient Advocacy team, they rarely pay more than their co-pay and deductible.<\/p>\n
