The BK-117 has Satellite tracking, dual GPS’, Radar and an autopilot. Also installed is a wire strike protection system and special lighting that enables the crew to perform Night Vision Goggle Operations.
The cabin area has LOX, is air conditioned and has two aft facing seats as well as a single side mounted seat for the med crew. There are special mounts for the monitors. Like the EC-135, the patient is loaded from the rear through “clam shell” doors.

Communications Equipment |

The radios are equipped with all 32 CTCSS Tones (Private Line (PL) or Channel Guard Tones) and an encoder to tie into hospitals. This will allow direct communications between flight personnel and communications centers, emergency personnel and hospitals. |
